This year’s installment of Winter Archive features works by Jordan Sullivan, Ellen McFadden and Robert Pokorny. The paintings and photographs were drawn from previous exhibitions here at the gallery, past solo presentations by McFadden and Pokorny and the group show titled Invariants in the case of Sullivan. The selection process centered simply on the pleasure of looking. They are the pieces we wanted to look at during these shorter, darker and rainier days of winter. Each of the works, by degrees, employs elements of abstraction with an emphasis on color and form, memory and imagination. They are works that can warm the spirit, just as each day of the new year brings a little more light.
